چکیده
This paper investigates the use of ontologies in processes of collaborative learning and knowledge generation. The creation and use of ontologies is analysed from an activity theoretical perspective in order to understand processes of shared conceptualization as well as the role of ontologies in processes of change and transformation. Scenarios of ontology-based collaborative learning and knowledge-creation are presented. This work is based on the cultural-historical activity theory, providing a theoretical framework (1) for understanding processes of knowledge-creation which take place when generating and using ontologies and (2) to investigate the dynamic relationship (coupling) between individual learning and the transformation of a community.

متن کاملFirst Workshop on Learner-Oriented Knowledge Management & KM-oriented E-Learning (LOKMOL 2005)
The high potential for synergy between Knowledge Management (KM) and eLearning seems obvious given the many interrelations and dependencies of these two fields. However, the relationship has not yet been fully understood and harnessed. This workshop therefore aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners, who are interested in combining findings from both fields. On the one hand learn...

Utilizing the resources of the web in educational practices has made instructional processes more efficient and interesting and has made the learning process on the other hand much easier and attractive. With the web, English language teachers now have the option of engaging learners in online (web-based) instructions in addition to the use of conventional classroom instructions or alternativel...
متن کاملLifelong , self-directed learning and the maintenance of competence: the triple helix of continuing professional development
Abstract It has been proposed that we think of continuing medical education (CME) as a two-stranded helix, in which one strand represents the internal characteristics of the learner-physician, the other strand the culture and environment in which he or she practices and lives. In many countries, the product of these two strands has been increasingly termed ‘continuing professional development’...
